Preparation in full swing for LS vote counting

With the date of counting of votes for the 18th Lok Sabha elections on June 4 drawing closer, government authorities are making preparations for the counting process with most of the districts having started the preparations through issuance of relevant notification for training of officials, and informing political parties and candidates to submit names of counting agents.
As per notification issued by the Imphal West district election officer, names of counting agents should be submitted along with full details, two recent colour passport photographs and authorised letter from the candidate or his election agent to the DEO office by 5 pm of May 31.Counting will begin from 8 am on June 4.Pre-counting procedures of ETPBS will be done at Kombirei Hall while postal ballots will be counted at the ground floor office of BDO Patsoi.
Bishnupur DEO/Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lourembam Bikram also notified all appointed as counting supervisors, counting assistants and micro-observers that the first round of training on counting of votes polled in EVMs/VVPATs for the 18th Lok Sabha Election, 2024 in respect of Bishnupur district will be held at the Panchayat Resource Centre (PRC Hall), Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur on Friday and May 25 .
In a notification issued Wednesday, DEO Bikram informed that training for counting supervisors and assistants will be held on Friday, on May 25 for micro-observers.
All officials concerned and staffers should attend the said training on time, failing which necessary action will be taken up without further information, cautioned the DEO.
