Noney gets first private hospital, research institute

The first-ever private hospital of Noney district named 'Makaam Hospital and Research Institute (MHRI) has been inaugurated on Thursday at Longmai Bazar, Noney district headquarters.
The 50-bedded hospital equipped with sophisticated diagnostic machines and established by a group of doctors and management committee was inaugurated by Hill Areas Committee chairman Dinganglung Gangmei in the presence Ministry of Finance deputy director Ganreipou Gangmei and Noney chief medical officer Dr Zianthuilung Kamei among others.
The chairman of the hospital is Ka-phunjuak Henry Gonmei from Longmai Part-3.On the day of inauguration, two patients (appendicitis and kidney stone cases) were successfully operated upon by a team of surgeon free of cost while 10 patients availed free check-up.
The hospital will provide both inpatient and outpatient services including Laparoscopic (Keyhole) and open surgery, obstetrics & gynaecology surgeries, general medicine paediatric consultations, orthopaedic consultation and diagnostic services like X-Ray, laboratory tests, ultrasound, etc.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, HAC chairman Dinganglung Gangmei lauded the hospital management for their tireless efforts to fulfil the people's dream and address difficulty endured by the poor people in health sector.
He appealed to the people to have sense of belongingness and unity to bring positive changes in the society and encouraged the people to be part of the nation building activity with positive thoughts and mind.
Dinganglung also announced that the road connecting the hospital would be black topped soon.
The inaugural function was attended by village authority leaders, leaders of various CSOs, church leaders, doctors and well-wishers.
