In a major boost to the ongoing movement for implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) System in the State to save the indigenous people from the onslaught of unchecked and unregulated influx of outsiders, Manipur State Panchayat Parishad (MSPP), which is a large organisation comprising 60 Zilla Parishad members, 161 Pradhans and 1511 Ward members, and All Manipur Bar Association, have announced their full support to the movement.
Addressing a press conference in this regard at Panchayat Bhavan, Porompat today, Chief Advisor of MSPP Prof N Mohendro explained that the decision to support the movement for introduction of the restrictive system in Manipur has been adopted after due consideration of the fact that demographic imbalance from unrestraint inflow of outsiders would ultimately lead to social instability, thereby affecting peace and development.
