Lamka, August 02 2014 :
Non-availability of 'Audiometry' in Churachandpur District Hospital has been highlighted in a representation submitted to the Health and Family Welfare Minister by the Churachandpur District Disabled Union (CDDU) today.
The union urged the Health Minister to install a clinical Audiometry with speaker in the district hospital at the earliest possible.
With Phungzathang Tonsing becoming the Health Minister, the disable community of Churachandpur has witnessed a major fillip on the facilities towards the welfare of the community, be it on the reinvigorated social welfare department or the establishment of district medical board (Disable), the representation submitted to Minister Phungzathang Tonsing said, adding that the District Medical Board (Disable) which is ready to conduct its maiden assessment camp is an accomplishment of the Health Minister to bring relief to the community.
The representation, however, lamented that the Chief Medical Officer nor the District Hospital is not in possession of the vital equipment to asses hearing impairment.
