Imphal, September 05 2015 :
The three Government Bills passed by the State Assembly will not harm the interest of the Hills and if needed, the Bills can be amended, Chief Minister O Ibobi stated on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion of Teachers' Day celebration 2015 at the DM College campus here, the Chief Minister added that the Government does not do anything that can hurt the sentiment of any of the community in the State.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the three Bills do not contain points that impinge on the rights and interest of any group.
Manipur Assembly passed the Protection of Manipur Peoples Bill, 2015, Manipur Land Revenue & Land Reforms Act, 1960 (7th Amendment) Bill, 2015, and Manipur Shops and Establishments (2nd Amendment) Bill, 2015 on August 31 .
The Government is open to talk for bringing about an agreeable solution to the controversy surrounding the three Bills, Ibobi said.
The Governor is yet to give his assent to the Bills and hence suggestions on making amendment are always welcomed given that the Bills harm the interest of the hills, he said.
Ibobi was sad over the recent Churachandpur violence that claimed lives of eight persons and termed the incident as unfortunate.
The Chief Minister added that there is always a solution for every problem and urged all concerned to come to the table for talks for an honourable way out.
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam also expressed willingness of the Government to hold talks with the aggrieved groups over the three Bills.
