Moreh, January 23 2021: One person died while another sustained bullet injury, after armed militants fire several round of gunshots at a crowded workshop at border town Moreh, under Tengnoupal district.

Report reaching here said that the firing incident happened at around 11.30 am at a vehicle workshop identified as Mujibur Workshop located at Moreh Ward No 9 .

Those armed militants came in a Maruti Gypsy vehicle and started firing indiscriminately killing a person identified as Thangminlen Guite, about 45 years old and a resident of TL Haijang Village.

One 19 years old mechanic of the workshop identified as Gulbaz from Moirang Kwakta of Bishnupur district miraculously survive after a bullet hit at his right thigh.

The report further added that both Thangminlen Guite and Gulbaz were immediately rushed to Moreh Primary Hospital.

Thangminlun Guite was declared death at around 12 noon while Gulbaz has been taken for further treatment at Imphal after providing emergency medical aid.

UKLF fired the gunshots br/> Meanwhile, the Kuki National Organisation (KNO) in a press statement has point fingers to the cadres of the UKLF in connection with the firing incident.

The outfit also said that Thangminlen Guite, is the DC Tactical Hqrs, Moreh.

He was gunned down by four assailants at Forest Gate, Moreh at around noon.

Quoting eyewitness's report, the KNO said that the assailants, cadres of UKLF, fired three rounds from a white Gypsy vehicle that killed Thangminlen Guite.

"UKLF, signatory of Suspension of Operations, has violated ground rules not only by killing Thangminlen Guite, but also by their presence in and around Moreh, which is more than 50 KM far from their designated Camp Nazareth, located at Khangborol village", The KNO statement signed by Stephen Kuki, Under Secretary, Information & Publicity, Kuki National Organisation, Manmasi said.

The KNO urged the Government authority to conduct investigation to the crime committed by UKLF's cadres and confine them in the designated camp, completely away from Moreh to prevent further violation of SoO ground rules.
