KIM condemns killing of Pastor Thangjalal, seeks justice

Kangpokpi, September 28 2020: The Kuki Inpi Manipur has come out strongly against the violent clash between Aimol Chingnunghut and Aimol Khunyai located within Tengnoupal police station over a contested playground on September 26 in which Pastor Thangjalal Aimol was killed and sought justice for the victim.

S Gouminlun Gangte, Secy Information and Publicity of KIM said that Pastor Thangjalal Aimol was severely assaulted by one Alim alias Korsosong a cadre of NSCN (IM) when he went to pacify the incensed group.

According to the deceased Pastor's wife Deaya Leivon, her husband was repeatedly thrashed on the face and chest by the NSCN (IM) cadre even after he lay flat on the ground and later succumbed to his injuries.

Deaya recalled that he was intentionally targeted as his father Vanneilal Aimol was also killed by the NSCN (IM), Gangte added.

While extending its deepest condolence to the bereaved family of (L) Thangjalal Aimol, the Kuki Inpi Manipur appealed to the Government to take befitting action against Alim alias Korsosong involved in the killing of the Pastor.

It also urged all to condemn the murder while adding that Alim alias Korsosong should be arrested, brought before the Court and prosecuted for his criminal act at the earliest possible date.
