Snake bite victim evacuated

Assam Rifles evacuated one individual identified as Nekheite (23 yrs), a case of poisonous snake bite from Shalluk on April 26 to the medical facility at their Shalluk location.
The victim had complaints of vomitting, giddiness and swelling over right lower limb with active bleeding and alleged history of snake bite, said a statement by the Assam Rifles.
The Assam Rifles Medical team treated the snake bite victim with anti-snake venom and supportive treatment and after the condition of the patient stabilized, he was further referred to a Centre with greater medical care facilities.
The villagers thanked Assam Rifles for timely rescue and treatment of the victim.
Assam Rifles stands by its Credo of being 'Friends of the North East People' and is always there for the people when needed, added the statement.
