Drugs and other intoxicating substances worth Rs 1,21,400 seized during the last months by AMADA were consigned to flames at Lilong Bazar today.
The seized drugs and intoxicating substances were destroyed to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking which falls on June 26 .
The drugs which were destroyed today were seized by AMADA and its different units during January to June 25 this year.
These included 44 boxes of SP capsules, 89 bottles of Recodex and 22 strips of N-10 tablets.
Setting afire the intoxicating substances, AMADA volunteers chanted slogans like "Give up intoxicating substances", "Don't let intoxicating substances win over you" etc.
AMADA drive committee deputy secretary E Ibempishak said that AMADA would be observing the 26th International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at Lilong Haoreibi College with Education Minister L Jayantakumar as chief guest.
