The All Manipur Anti-Drug Association (AMADA) today destroyed contraband drug items worth around Rs 1 lakh at Lilong Bazar before the public.
The items destroyed today were seized by the association during the last six months at different parts of the state by the different units of the association, said volunteers of the AMADA to reporters before eliminating the items.
The destroyed items were 44 boxes of Spasmo Proxyvon (containing 1100 strips), 87 bottles of Recodex and 27 strips of Nitroxyn-10 (N10).The estimated cost of the items together is Rs 1,21,800 at the local market.
Deputy secretary, I Ibempishak talking to reporters at the spot revealed that AMADA has been eliminating intoxicant items and alcohol as part of its drives to eliminate the items from the soil of the state.
They used to eliminate the items after collecting for every six months, he added.
