Governor of Manipur, Gurbachan Jagat has conveyed his greetings and best wishes to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Janmastami tomorrow.
In a message, the Governor said," Lord Krishna took birth on this earth in order to rescue the world from the clutches of evil and to create a new world order based on justice, equality, love and fair play.
While celebrating this occasion, we should rededicate ourselves to the ideals, eternal values and the path of righteousness as espoused by Him through the Srimad Bhagavad Gita.
His message of love, mercy, duty and sacrifice has become more and more important in thepresent situation of society, when the atmosphere is vitiated with social tension, enmity, hatred, violence and mistrust.
I am confident that by emulating the message of Lord Krishna through the Srimad Bhagavad Gita, mankind would be able to build a more civilized society and peaceful world" .
In another message, IG AR (South), Major General C A Krishnan and all Ranks of Assam Rifles have extended a very warm greetings and sincere good will to the people of Manipur on the auspicious occasion of "Janmashtami".
The IG AR (South) said, "May this festival herald an era of peace, progress and prosperity in the region and enhance the spirit of unity, cohesiveness and brotherhood amongst the warm and friendly people of all the communities of the
State" .
