National Science Day celebration kicks off

A five-day long celebration of National Science Day 2024 (Continuing Programme) kicked off today at Manipur Science & Technology Council (MASTEC) complex in Takyel, Imphal.
The event is being organised by MASTEC, Imphal in association with STFM, MAPS, MASCA & GENIM.
The inaugural function was graced by Hungyo Worshang, Secretary, Science & Technology, Government of Manipur; Dr H Birkumar Singh, Chief Scientist, CSIR-NEIST, Imphal and Dr L Maniketan Singh.

Speaking on the occasion, Hungyo Worshang elaborated on the impact of science & technology on the society and added that the 5-day event will help foster scientific temperament in students and youths.
He also expressed the desire for conducting such events filled with different activities in the hill districts of Manipur.
Dr L Maniketan encouraged the students to apply for the State Science Communicator Award presented by MASTEC, Dr Ibeyaima Innovation Award by Manipuri Association of Canada (MAC) and other awards initiated to promote science & technology.
Notably, the 5-day event will have various competitions for students.
Around 450 students from across the State will participate in painting competition, model exhibition, declaration contest, short play competition, quiz competition, mathematics competition, etc.
