2nd Faculty Induction Programme concludes

The week-long Faculty Induction Programme for newly recruited faculties and scientists of Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal concluded today at the Conference Hall of College of Agriculture (CoA), Iroisemba.
The 2nd Faculty Induction Programme was organised by the Directorate of Instruction, CAU, Imphal on the theme, "Developing Successful Research Grant Proposals".
A total of 23 distinguished experts delivered their lectures during; the 23 technical sessions (14 offline, 9 online) held during the week-long Faculty Induction Programme.
The programme was participated by 42 newly recruited faculties and scientists from the 13 constituent colleges of CAU, Imphal.
The valedictory function was attended by Dr Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor, CAU, Imphal; Prof Indira Sarangthem, Director of Instruction; Prof Ranjit Sharma, Director of Extension Education; Dr L M Gamayak, Director of Research; Dr TR Sharma, Registrar and Dr Ng Iboyaima, Dean, COFT as presidium members.
The programme began with a report presentation by Prof LK Mishra where he briefed about the week long Faculty Induction Programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Anupam Mishra said that research is a continuous process with no end and that faculties & scientists should work hard to transform their research aspirations into reality.
He stated that the knowledge and skills gained over the past week should be properly applied in a way that will help unlock the door to securing resources and enable them to conceptualize their idea & innovation.
The VC also advised the participants to be committed and support one another in their future endeavors.
Prof Indira Sarangthem expressed her gratitude to all the eminent experts for their insightful lectures.
Taking into account the suggestions and feedback given by the participants, she assured the participants that hands-on training, application and technologies on AI application, GIS application, drone technology, precision agriculture shall be incorporated in the future programmes.
Prof Ph Ranjit Sharama expressed gratitude to the VC for organising this educative and intuitive programme for the welfare of the newly recruited faculties and scientists.
Dr LM Gamayak emphasized on maintaining consistency while writing research proposals and stressed that research should focus on identification of end users, impact analysis, input-output outcome matrix, case studies and ecological efficiency.
Dr TR Sharma advised all the participants to broaden their research horizons and take advantage of the special initiatives and programmes available for the North East Region for their professional development.
Dr Ng Iboyaima spoke on the importance of instructions in research and the need for scheduling and managing time frames for successful research.
