Fuel allocation 'disparity' irks ROs

Imphal, January 12 2017:
Many ROs of petrol and diesel have expressed strong resentment against the alleged non-uniform allocation of fuel by the Government in the backdrop of the UNC's indefinite economic blockade.
They have been alleging that fuel have been allocated to some selected ROs repeatedly while others were left out completely.
Some ROs/dealers told The Sangai Express that only three selected oil pumps have been allocated fuels repeatedly out of the many oil pumps opened under IOC.
They appealed to the Government to view and treat all oil pumps uniformly and let all oil pumps distribute fuel under a roster system.
Rather than viewing all oil pumps with the same eye, the Government has been allocating extra quantity of fuel to DGR Velocity KSK, Napetpalli; Tuks and Bonds, Hatta and Manipur Highway, Khabam Lamkhai while other oil pumps are kept closed.
Such discriminatory attitude has anguished many ROs/dealers.
On the other hand, some ROs/dealers have not been distributing fuel in accordance with the allocation made by the Government while some others have been forcibly unloading fuel directly at their oil pumps.
Such discrepancies can lead to violent confrontations at the IOC's depot, they warned.
The proprietor of one fuel outlet is not distributing fuel at the oil pump.
The proprietor let one consumer unload fuel at their own place even though the fuel was allocated to the oil pump.
Again, another challan was prepared today with an intention to divert 12 Kls of diesel directly to a private limited body.
However, after strong objection from another RO/dealer S Stody, the allocated 12 Kl of diesel was unloaded at one particular fuel pump.
Such anomalies can lead to serious problems and the authority concerned ought to look and treat all oil pumps uniformly without any discrimination, said the ROs/dealers.
