World Veterinary Day celebrated, vaccination camp held

As celebrated across the globe, the District Veterinary Hospital Thoubal celebrated World Veterinary Day at the hospital today under the theme "Veterinarians are essential health workers".
The event was graced by District Veterinary Office Thoubal and Kakching, Joint director Dr Puyam Gojendro as the chief guest while Dr Mohd Fajur Rahaman, Dr K Brojendro and Dr Ksh Diana graced as the presidium members.
Speaking as the chief guest, Dr Puyam Gojendro highlighted the importance of vaccinating the pet animals on a regular basis.
He maintained that it is of utmost importance to administer anti-rabies vaccine to the pet dogs and cats to ensure that they remain protected from rabies.
To curb the spread of rabies, he appealed to all to make collective efforts to ensure that the pet dogs and cats are vaccinated with antirabies for the well-being of all.
In line with the World Veterinary Day celebration, a vaccination drive was carried out for the pet animals.
Meanwhile, on the occasion of World Veterinary Day, an anti-rabies vaccine camp was held at Athokpam Mayai Leikai Phura Keithel Community hall today.
The anti-rabies vaccine camp was jointly organised by Thoubal Athokpam Mayai Leikai PKDC Club; former Member of Ward No 6, Loitongbam Nanda Singh and officials of Veterinary office.
A total of 78 dogs and 17 cats were administered anti-rabies vaccine in today's camp.
