Imphal, December 23 2023: The Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal has hosted an advanced symposia on 'Recent advancements in Laser Dentistry' .

The programme called "Step into 2024-Innovate, Upgrade and Stand Out with Lasers" generated a lot of interest and participation from all the departments, interns, junior residents, faculties and practitioners, said a release.

The programme was inaugurated by Prof (Dr) G Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director, RIMS Imphal and Prof (Dr) B Praveen Reddy, Principal, Dental College RIMS.

Dr Wairokpam Bhoomika Devi, HOD I/C of Paediatric & Preventive Dentistry Department was the head of the organising team while Prof (Dr) Chandrashekar Yavagal from Karnataka was the invited faculty and speaker for the programme.

During the programme, advanced laser equipment was displayed and various applications along with Laser Teeth Whitening was demonstrated.

All the participants also performed a 'Hands on' with the apparatus supplied by Novolase Technologies India.
