K Timothy Zimik assures to work for upliftment of hill people

A one-day political meeting of K Timothy Zimik, retired IRS, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income tax, Ministry of Finance (Revenue) Govt of India, the intending candidate for outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency in the upcoming 18th Lok Sabha Election- 2024 was held today at Multipurpose Hall, Longmai-3 Noney District Headquarters.
The political meeting was hosted by Villages Council Longmai Area (VCLA) in collaboration with other civil society organisations of the Longmai area.

The programme began with an opening prayer by Rev G Gaiphulung, Pastor Khumji-2 Baptist Church followed by welcome address by Adai Dangmei, Chairman VCLA where he stated that the people of Longmai area will support the candidate who can exercise the right of the hills people for their upliftment.
He further appealed to the candidates to implement the promises delivered in their speeches and included in their election manifestos.
The intending candidate Timothy Zimik said that he is well aware of the plights of the poor households since he grew up in such a household and maintained that he has been working earnestly in the interest of the hill people and for their welfare.
Affirming that he will prioritise the development of the hills people if he is elected, Timothy Zimik said that he will ensure that the tribals of the hills get their due rights and benefits.
'I will put in my best efforts to promote agro-forestry, eco-tourism, horticulture and focus on other developmental projects like inter road connectivity, health sector etc', he said.
The political meeting witnessed the presence of various CSO leaders of Longmai Area, Churches leaders, youth, students and women folk.
