SFs recover weapons in Thoubal district

Imphal, November 21 2023: A combined team of Imphal East district police, 1/3 GR and 29 Battalion BSF B-Coy conducted search operation in Moirangpurel area under Thoubal Dam Police Station on Tuesday and recovered huge cache of weapons.

According to a police report, the team conducted the operation at Moirangpurel Khunou Leikai from ,7.30am till 10.30am Tuesday during which one each country-made .303 rifle and 9mm pistol with magazine, three No.36 Indian hand grenades, three No.80 hand grenades, two 7.62mm live ammunition, three 9mm live ammunition, twenty one .303 blank fire ammunition, eleven 16mm (red) mini flares 11, one 51mm para illuminating bomb, nine 12 gauge ammunition and one 1A tube launcher were recovered from a bag found near a brick wall on the eastern side of Moirangpurel High School.

Security forces also carried out search operations in fringe and vulnerable areas under Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching and Kangpokpi districts in the last 24 hours, according to daily update on the security situation issued by Police Control Room.
