PREPAK(Pro) halts fund drive

Taking serious note of the economic woes being faced by the people on account of the protracted violent crisis, the proscribed PREPAK(Pro) has resolved to suspend collection of funds from certain sections with effect from today.
A statement issued by the outfit's assistant publicity secretary L Ningsingba informed that the outfit would suspend collection of donations from indigenous shopkeepers, doctors serving people honestly and affluent social workers temporarily.
Taking advantage of the ongoing crisis, some elements, disguising themselves as patriots or nationalists have been indulging in unrestrained fund drives, it said.
It has also been learnt that some revolutionary groups too have been indulging in rampant fund collection drives, the outfit remarked.
"But PREPAK(Pro) is of the belief that we would be only jeopardising our future if we make unjustifiable demands to the people", it said.
It said that the outfit has been taking active part in the people's struggle and helping farmers, workers and underprivileged families within its capacity.
However, the outfit, in order to enable itself work as a revolutionary organisation, would continue to request for donations through its letterhead from well to do individuals, Government departments, people who amassed wealth and properties through corrupt practices, people involved in illegal businesses and certain private schools, it added.
