Zomi Football Club will clash with Nepal XI in the first quarterfinal of the All India Chief Minister's Gold Cup football tournament organised by South District Football Association, Sikkim at Jorethang, about 25 kms from the state capital Gangtok.
ZFC is the only club from Manipur that received the invitation for participation at the tournament.
The Churachandpur district-based team defeated All India SAI 1-0 in their first match played last Tuesday before scripting 7-5 victory in the tie-breaker in the pre-quarter final match against Baichung Bhutia's I-League team United Sikkim, thus ensuring their entry into the quarter-finals on their maiden appearance outside the state.
Other quarter finalists according to ZFC officials include Bhutan, Air India, Royan Wahengcho (Shillong), ONGC and Kerala.
The ZFC team is represented by 18 players and five officials in the tournament.
