Traffic regulation spelt out for Sangai fest

Imphal, November 17 2013:
In view of the Manipur Sangai Tourism Festival 2013 which commences on November 21 at Hapta Kangjeibung, Palace Compound, the Directorate of Transport has announced a slew of traffic regulations which would remain effective from November 18 to November 30 .
Vehicular movement across Sanjenthong would follow one-way norm from West to East.
Vehicles going West from East would be diverted via Minuthong/Lamlong and Singjamei bridge.
From Thangal General Statue to Minuthong bridge, there would be one-way traffic from South to North.
Heavy vehicles including passenger vehicles would be diverted from Kongba junction to Ayangpalli road and from Khongnang Ani Karak towards Lamlong bridge and Thangmeiband side.
Idle parking of vehicles would not be allowed on both sides of the road between Sanjenthong bridge and Thangal General statue, both sides of the road from Thangal General statue to Minuthong bridge and the lane from Advance Hospital to Harikhagok crossing.
Andro Parking will be a public parking lot exclusively for buses operating passenger short shuttle service to the festival venue whereas Heijingang ground, Tidim ground, Tera Bazar, RIMS Gate, THAU ground, Pishumthong, ISBT Deulaland, Lamlong Bazar, Star ground (near Imphal East DC office) and Kongba Bazar have been declared as public parking lots.
Vehicles other than those of VVIPs/VIPs, organisers and invitees would not be allowed to park at Polo Ground Maning parking in view of the 7th Manipur Polo International 2013 which would be held at Imphal Polo Ground from November 23 to November 28 .
Moreover, intermediate public transport vehicles including diesel autos should take right turn from the main road (Kangla road) and on entering M-Sector by-lane should proceed towards Governor Road/Paona Bazar Road via Fire Brigade Road, read the order issued by Transport Director M Luikham.
