24th Wushu Championships Manipur emerge overall team champion

State wushu team emerged the overall team champion with 34 medals - 17 gold, 10 silver and 7 bronze medal in the 24th Senior Wushu Champion-ships, organised by the Wushu Association of India, today at Punjab University, Chandigarh.
On the final day, Manipur clinched 7 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medal.
Manipur became champions in the taolu event by winning 13 gold, 8 silver and 5 bronze medal while in the sanshou event State team bagged the runners up title with 4 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze.
In the taolu event today, L Sanatombi Chanu, M Punshiba clinched a gold medal each.
Ng A Toshibala, Y Sapna and Kh Bidyashwori won a gold in the girls' dual event.
Kh Bidyashwori and L Naokhomba bagged a silver medal each in the taijijian event.
In the nanquan event, H Ramananda Meitei claimed a bronze medal while in the men's dual event N Dev Singh, M Punshiba and K Malemnganba Meitei bagged a bronze medal.
In the sanshou group, P Sakuntala (45 kg), K Arunpama Devi (60 kg), M Rameshchandra (48 kg) and Th Vicky Singh (60 kg) won a gold medal each in their respective weight categories while L Ranjana Devi (48 kg) and Th Binapani (65 kg) claimed a silver medal and Ch Kabita Chanu (52 kg) and K Romila Devi (75 kg) settled for a bronze medal.
