5th T Subol Memorial Veteran T20 Cricket tourney begins

The 5th edition of T Subol Memorial Veteran T20 Cricket Tournament kick-started today at Oriental College ground.
In the opening match of the tournament (Group A), LCCC thumped YUCC by 44 runs despite Bishwajit's four wicket haul and Devdutta's half century for the latter team.
LCCC won the toss and elected to bat first.
With Rakesh shining with a 31 ball 57 and Shetinjit adding 38 off 25 balls, LCCC were able post a total of 151 runs for 9 in 20 overs.
The innings saw Bishwajit of YUCC clinch four wickets for 22 runs in 4 overs as his compatriots, Mani and Tomba bagged two wickets each.
In the chase, LCCC bowlers made a concerted effort and bundled YUCC out for 107 runs in 19 overs to secure the 44 run victory.
7 batters, except Devdutta (63 off 40 balls) failed to cross ten run mark and among them two went off on ducks.
LCCC's Rakesh (2/19), Jillangamba (2/16) and Akbar (2/41) all earned two wickets each and Krishna picked up a wicket to help their team restrict YUCC to 107.Rakesh of LCCC who shone with both bat (52 runs) and ball (2 wickets) was named man of the match.
