Nishikant reaches out to inmates of Home

Owner of The Sangai Express Nishikant Singh Sapam extended financial assistance and also assured to support and sponsor the annual sports meet of BB Paul Mental Development Home, Mongshangei in the coming years.
Nishikant also assured that from now on he will continue to extend financial aid of Rs 10,000 every month to the Home.
Addressing the inaugural function of the 23rd annual sports meet of the Home, Nishikant Singh Sapam intending candidate in the upcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly election from Keishamthong AC said it was his first time at the Home and added that seeing all the residents of the Home enjoy and participate in the annual sports meet with so much enthusiasm was indeed incredible.

He added that it is now evident that education is incomplete in the absence of co-curricular activities.
The residents of the Home, who are mentally challenged, are being imparted special education at the Home, but they also need to be engaged in co-curricular activities, he added.
Nishikant added that if the talents of the students of the Home are nurtured so that they can become self-reliant in future that will be the greatest achievement ever.
He added that supporting and nurturing such children is not just the duty of the Government but all the people also have an equally important role to play.
The inaugural event of the annual sports meet was also attended by Chongtham Promodini, president All Manipur Mentally Handicapped Persons' Welfare Organisation; Y Ibechaobi, secretary, All Manipur Mentally Handicapped Persons' Welfare Organisation; Dr L Somorjit, retired Associate Professor, Imphal College; Dr L Kokngang, retired selection grade Lecturer, MB College, Dr N Joy and Dr Hamom Naba former Chairman, COHSEM as presidium members.
Notably Nishikant Singh Sapam, despite shouldering a major responsibility in the establishment of Sangai Captive Breeding Centre at Langol, has also been providing the monthly remuneration of two tourist guides at Keibul Lamjao National Park.
