Football gala event awaits Senapati

In a first of its kind, an all-star team consisting of several Indian footballers will play a friendly match in August this year against the Purul Youth and Student Organisation at Purul Centre Ground, which is going to be one of the biggest ground in Southeast Asia.
Michael Chopra, a former England U-20 and Newcastle United striker, and Bale Takhel, managing director of NTT Docomo and founder of FC Imphal, were recently in Senapati to assess the condition of the Purul Centre Ground and they have consented to organise the friendly match, a statement from the PYSO said.
Former Indian ex-captain Renedy and some former national and ISL players will be part of the all-star team and the match will be a huge boost for football lovers, the statement added.
