LCCC to face off with YWC in Veteran T-20 final

LCCC, Lilong Chajing will lock horns with YWC, Langthabal for the title of the 8th T-20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament-2020 being organised by Manipur Veteran Cricket Association.
LCCC made it to the final of the tournament with an entertaining 3 wicket win against CYCLONE, Thangmeiband today after YWC dumped Model Club, Chingamakha out with a 5 wicket thrashing.
In the first semi-final match, YWC won the toss and opted to field first.
Model Club after being let to bat first piled up only 125 runs for 9.YWC cruised to the target in just 18.5 overs with 5 wickets left to spare and ensured the final berth.
Chirish (26), Demin (22) and Gourachandra (17) made significant contributions in Model Club's innings which saw Rojesh enjoy a three wicket haul in 2 overs.
YWC's Sashikanta and Priyokumar also bagged two wickets each in this innings.
Premchandra then led YWC chase by adding 33 runs off 39 balls and Priyokumar hit an unbeaten 21 off 13 balls to steer his team to victory.
Gojendro and Kumarjit also added 20 and 13 runs respectively in YWC's tally in this innings as Tejkumar and Demin picked up two wickets each.
Meanwhile the second semi-final prove to be a nail biting contest as LCCC signed off the chase with a boundary with 1 ball and 3 wickets left to spare after CYCLONE posted a huge target of 184 runs losing three wickets.
After electing to bat first CYCLONE took off their innings on a bright note with Thoithoi hitting a 68 ball 78 before Shashi gathered 53 off 33 runs.
But their efforts went in vain as concerted effort made by LCCC batsmen yield reward and posted match winning 187 riding on last over heroics from Sanjit (37 not out) after Pratap (38) had provided initial momentum.
Mujibur (31) also had a sensible outing in this chase.
W Surjit of CYCLONE also played his bowling part well to finish with 3 wickets and Thoithoi, W Surjit and Robindro managed a wicket each only to see the Lilong Chajing team end their title hopes.
The final date is yet to be announced.
