Mayang Imphal outfit Brave Boys Association, wrested both the boys and girls title of the Fifth State Mini handball Tournament at the Takyel Indoor stadium of Sports Authority of India - Recreation Centre today.
The BBA girls claimed the championship title recording two consecutive wins in the one day competition organised by Manipur handball Association.
BBA upstaged last edition�s champions Yaipha Lamjing Kanglup (YLK), Chingarel Tezpur 23-17 in the first match and inflicted 22-13 defeat to Eastern Sporting Union (ESU), Wangkhei to wrest the crown.
A Bijenti netted 12 goals and A Sita five, as L Sunina contributed three followed by two from Loidangton in BBA�s first match of the tournament.
Bijenti scored similar number of goals in the second match against the Wangkhei girls with Shila, Loidangton and Purnima chipping in with five, three and two goals respectively to grab the championship title.
ESU edged YLK 13-12 to secure the runners-up position with Th Rojita and B Sunitibala finding the YLK net on five occasions each as Th Roma scored three goals.
In the mini boys final BBA overcame ESU 23-19 with Th Kiranjit emerging as the highest goal scorer for the winners at eight goals, Kh Robin six, L Kiran five, A Kumarjit three and Samarjit one.
L Nilakanta (12), L Ibomcha (three) K Punilkanta (two), Marjit (one) and Surajkumar (one) featured among the ESU goals.
The mini boys category was competed by seven teams with the two top sides qualifying for the last four stage wherein BBA defeated YLK 22-16 and ESU outsmarting KSC, Kongpal 21-12.
