Imphal, March 22:
Two MLAs in the ruling SPF Government have allegedly siphoned off around 300 quintals of Sugar meant for distribution among the people of Churachandpur district under Public Distribution System (PDS) from FCI godown and sold it off to some businessmen in Imphal.
According to a reliable source, the two MLAs took out the said sugar quantity as their quota from the FCI godown and sold it off to a shop at Imphal on March 19.When The Sangai Express contacted FCS Minister Ngamthang Haokip in this connection, he denied Sugar being issued to MLAs as their quotas.
Sugar is provided after the DC concerned issued the required indent, he informed.
However, the Minister informed that kerosene is still being issued under the MLA's quota.
