Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy : AKSDO, Model Club register second victories; SHADOW, YUCC open winning accounts

AKSDO-Khangabok and Model Club eased to second Group A victories in the ongoing 4th MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy 2023-24 .
At Luwangpokpa Cricket Ground, AKSDO piled up 216 for 4 in allotted 35 overs courtesy fifties by Kh Bishorjit and L Samson and bundled out Al-Ameen for 84 runs in 23.2 overs to register a 132 run victory.
Kh Bishorjit (51) and L Samson (69 not out) and S Kaiku (24) were the main run getters for AKSDO after they were put in to bat first.
Kh Hanif and Mustaque were able to pick a wicket each in this innings.

In reply, Al-Ameen faltered badly early on and never recovered despite Rashid's 37 as S Kaiku (3/20), N Sanayai (2/20), L Lanchenbi (2/12) and L Nungshiba (2/20) of AKSDO ran riot across their batting line up with their prolific bowling performances.
L Samson of AKSDO who starred with an unbeaten 69 off 87 deliveries was adjudged man of the match.
Meanwhile, Model Club-Chingamkha, who had beaten TRAU in their game opener, extended their winning run by beating YWC-L by two wickets at Dhobi Lampak, Kongba Khunou.
The Langthabal outfit won the toss and opted to bat first.
Riding on Achouba (36) and Kumar (23), YWC-L were able to amass 184 for 9 wickets.
Model Club's Biyon however shone with a masterful knock of 64-ball 95 to steer Model to winning 188 for 8 wickets despite Brightson enjoying a four wicket haul (4/32) .
Earlier in the YWC-L's innings Bobby (2/32) and Biyon (2/19) of Model Club claimed two wickets each.
Achouba of YWC-L also bagged three wickets for 41 runs in a lost cause.
Biyon who shone with both the bat and ball was adjudged man of the match.
The day also saw SHADOW-Thangmeiband Kabrabam Leikai and YUCC-Kwakeikeithel Moirangpurel Leikai post first wins after having lost their opening games (Group B) .
SHADOW bundled out toss winners TCMDC-Thongju Part II for 80 runs within 23.4 overs at Model Hr Sec School and Oriental College Ground before easing to the 8 wicket victory in 20.2 overs.
A Goshan of the Thangmeiband team led the bowling attack and returned with the best bowling figures of 6-3-8-4 (4 wickets for 8 runs in 6 overs which include 3 maidens) while James Sahu scalped thrice (3/19) and Nirmal Mishra (2/29) to set up SHADOW batting collapse.
In reply, James Sahu scored an unbeaten 21 to seal the victory with S Lanchenba (21) in 20.2 overs.
James Sahu was eventually adjudged man of the match.
Elsewhere at Lairenjam Public Ground, Rickey scored an unbeaten 142 off 92 balls to guide YUCC to a 277 run victory over RULE, Meitram Makha Leikai.
With Ricky leading from the front and with Thoiba (25) and Okeson providing assistance, YUCC racked up a massive total of 299 runs for 7 wickets in allotted 35 overs.
Nongpoknganba of RULE claimed four wickets in YUCC's innings before their chase ended up in 14 overs with only 22 runs on the scoreboard as none of the batters were able to reach double digit runs and four went out on duck.
Joychand (2/3), Kenedy (2/5) and Lanleiba (2/3) of YUCC shared two wickets each to keep YUCC batters on check as Jamesbond and Malangba picked a wicket apiece.
