MPYCC members released on bail

Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West today ordered the release of six members of Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (MPYCC) on bail on execution of Rs 60,000 PR bond and surety of the same amount.
The six were arrested by a team of City Police on October 15 on alleged charges of causing danger to someone's life and voluntarily causing injury to a public servant and attempting to snatch a service gun in the name of rally on October 13 .
The arrested members of Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee have been identified as Md Rafi (25), s/o Ibomcha of Sangaiyumpham Ningthou Mamang Leikai; Chongtham Rajesh (25), s/o (L) Leibakmacha of Patsoi Part II; Yengkhom Amitkumar (26), s/o Ishingchaoba of Kakching Mayai Leikai; Sachin Takhellambam (22), s/o (L) Tomchou of Ngaikhong Khullen Mayai Leikai; Ningthoujam Mahanta (22), s/o Gobindro of Leimaram Mayai Leikai and Md Arif (19), s/o Wahid Khan of Lilong Atoukhong.
The IO of the case through APP submitted that from interrogation statements of arrested persons it was reportedly revealed that they were directly or indirectly involved in the case.
The investigation found that youths/rioters allegedly led by Achoibam Deben and Ninthoujam Popilal brutally assaulted the complainant, a Sub Inspector of City Police Station in an attempt to snatch his service gun and wireless handset.
Thus, the IO sought judicial custody of the six accused throughout the investigation to help identify other rioters and to nab the main culprits and other associates.
The Court on perusal of the case record and after hearing the submission of APP of the State, IO and defense counsels in length ordered the release of the six accused on their execution of Rs 60,000 PR bond and surety of same amount and on the condition that they will appear before the IO as and when called for and before the Court on the date fixed for appearance; they will not directly or indirectly get involved in any similar act/offences and they will not hamper and tamper the prosecution witnesses/evidences nor leave the State without prior permission of the Court.
