Khamgailung Gonmei selected to represent India in S Korea

A local boy Khamgailung Gonmei aged 17 years has been selected to play International Tennis Federation in South Korea schedule on June 7, 2012.Khamgailung Gonmei is the youngest son Gujei Gonmei of Dailong village, presently residing at Tamenglong Ward No V.Khamgailung Gonmei is presently staying in Delhi Lawn Tennis Association, RK Khana Tennis Stadium.
"On seeing my performance, I was selected to play to represent India.
This is the nineth time that I played outside the country, this time I will bring laurels to my country', Khamgailung Gonmei told, who had come from Delhi last night to seek blessing from his parents.
Three players Khamgailung, Talin and Taran will be representing India in South Korea, Gonmei said.
Khamgailung Gonmei was sponsored to South Korea tour by his coach Henrik Ekersund, National coach of Swedish Tennis Association, Stockholm as the Manipur government and particularly India failed to assist him.
To his disappointment the Manipur government has never help him to fulfill his dream.
The young boy who crosses just 16 years has his own dream to become a tennis star and shine in the international arena.
"Though I am not good in study, I'm dedicating my life in tennis and practicing six hours every day with my coach" he said.
'This is the nineth time I am playing outside the country representing the country but I had not recieved a single penny from state or central governments.
I was help by two coaches namely Henrik Ekersund and Abraham of French from their own pocket', Gonmei said.
"However, the government of Manipur this time has bought me a pair of shoes and a kit bag in the last month" he added.
Earlier, Gonmei went to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Bhutan, Tajikistan, Australia and Singapore.
He had also brought laurels to India in 2008.He is also scheduled to play in Mumbai at the National Championships organised by the All India Tennis Association on May 18.He appealed to all concern authorities, government officials and Zeliangrong communities to extend help in every possible ways to fulfill his dream.
