Imphal, May 15 2012:
ZSUD and ZWAD have strongly condemned the alleged cold-blooded murder of James Todiuwang, a bright and promising Zeliangrong Naga Research Scholar, by unknown miscreants/gangsters near NEHU campus on March 17, 2012 and the shoddy investigation by the local police which cannot even arrest the culprits even after more than a month of the gruesome crime.
James Todiuwang, a Ph.D student of NEHU was allegedly killed in a motor bike accident on 17th March 2012, near gates No.2 and 3 of the NEHU Campus, Shillong.
However, the prima facie evidences such as the post mortem report, the report on the condition of the bike involved in the alleged accident as provided by the District Transport Officer and many other suggest that the alleged accident that caused James Todiuwang death is a clear case of murder.
Moreover, the peculiar injury marks on James Todiuwang body strongly indicate that the accident was not the primary cause of his death, but was caused by brutal physical assaults.
