Evoke proprietor sets record straight

Proprietor of Bisra Aqua Minerals RK Birendra has clarified that solid particles detected in the firm's packaged drinking water 'Evoke' is from the same batch which had already been declared earlier as defective product.
Reacting to news reports about an individual spotting solid particles in the content of the firm's 'Evoke' brand packaged water to newspersons at Manipur Press Club today, Birendra informed that due to technical defect in the machine installed at the firm's Takyelpat Industrial Estate in between February 4 to April 3, 2012 production was ceased with the matter subsequently conveyed to all concerned through advertisements in leading State dailies in the April 4 and 5 editions.
While efforts of the firm to recollect all the packaged drinking water through the dealers was partially successful it came to light that about 300 cartons had already been distributed to the retailers, conceded Birendra who nevertheless pointed out that another advertisement urging the retailers as well as the general public against buying the defective batch of production was issued on April 7 .
Informing that in the public notice all concerned were urged to intimate the firm or dealers so that the same could be traced and replaced, the proprietor maintained the latest defective product of the firm was found to be from the same batch which was mentioned in the advertisements.
While regretting that some of the defective products were found to be on sale in the market, he affirmed that all possible measures and prescribed norms are being followed in the manufacture of the package drinking water brand.
With an engineer from Delhi having detected and repaired the defect in the machine, production has resumed, said Birendra who also affirmed that safety of the general public will never be compromised at any cost.
Further informing that checking on whether a firm is conforming to the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) norms is conducted every six months, he also confided that in case of defaulting a firm is liable to face the penalty of factory shut-down for three months and its revival possible only after rechecking of the standard norms.
Birendra also maintained the water used in 'Evoke' brand are procured from the Porompat Water Supply scheme and the under-ground water at the firm's Takyelpat campus.
