Manipur women's team defeated Punjab by 13 runs to emerge champion of the 5th Junior National Indoor Cricket Championship 2004 that concluded at Panchavati Nasik, Maharashtra on July 25, informed All Manipur Indoor Cricket Association.
The champions had prevailed over Chattisgarh, Andaman and Nicobar, Daman and Diu and Himachal pradesh before overcoming hosts Maharashtra in the quarter final.
The Manipur team comprised of W Ganga (captain), I Ritumala, I Roma, Y Daina, Ph Joyeeta, B Subashini, N Monica, W Binata, B Rasheshori and O Anjum.
Daina and Monica were also adjudged as the Best Bowler and Best Woman Cricketer (Miss Indoor Cricket) respectively, added the release.
