After all, the ghost of the June 18, 2001 public uprising continues to haunt the political class of the State and not taking any chances this time, a number of Ministers and MLAs have started transferring their movable assets and other valuables from their quarters to their native residences.
Similarly, precautionary measures have been taken up at all the political party offices in Imphal with security personnel and anti-riot police deployed for duty at these offices.
Readers will recall that a number of quarters of MLAs and Ministers including the Assembly and offices of all political parties were reduced to ashes during the June 18, 2001, anti-cease fire extension uprising.
According to reports received here, the Ministers and MLAs have moved all their movable assets from their quarters to their respective houses, not willing to take any chances.
The Ministers and MLAs though are all staying put at their official quarters.
