Security forces celebrate Raksha Bandhan

Phundrei Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised Raksha Bandhan celebration at Thoubal Company Operating Base today.
The Raksha Bandhan was celebrated jointly by Akhil Bhartia Vidyarthi Parishad and Thoubal Company Operating Base troops.
Approximately 25 students of Akhil Bahrtiya Vidyarthi Parishad from different villages of Thoubal District celebrated the festival by tying jolourful Rakhi to the Assam Rifles troops.
Secretary AVBP, Narendra Sapam and Parkash, District Service chief of Thoubal also witnessed the event and expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Assam Rifles.
Meanwhile, Tamenglong and Jwalamukhi battalions of Red Shield Division celebrated Raksha Bandhan with the villagers and school children today.
Ladies and girls from nearby villages and schools visited the units locations and tied the sacred thread to the soldiers' wrists with their trust and blessings strengthening the bond of Nationhood and respect.
Soldiers of Red Shield Division proudly celebrated the ritual with the colourful Rakhis designed not only by girls but also sent from all over the country.
