Road leading to Kachai village in bad shape

It has been reported that the villagers of Kachai village in Ukhrul district has been marred by the deplorable road condition which has hampered many developmental projects in the region.
According to our source, Minister Th Shyamkumar along with its officials and media persons has embarked on a trip to visit Kachai village which is situated some 62 Kms from Ukhrul town to inaugurate a market shed there, however the team faced uphill task to reach the village as the condition of the road was in deplorable condition mainly the hilly track that start from Homi village to Kachai village covering 30 Kms which has been filled with big potholes and cracks making difficult even for 4x4 vehicles to move ahead to further progress the journey.
Minister Shyamkumar and the team of media and officials managed to reach Kachai village after an alternative arrangement was made as the vehicles of the Minister and that of the team could not further advance their journey beyond Homi village, added our source.
After reaching the village, Minister Shyamkumar while addressing the public said the road that leads to Kachai village is in bad shape and assured the public that he will consult the concerned department to take up remedial measures to construct a proper road along this route.
He continued that due to the failure of the previous government to build a suitable road, the present Government is taking more time to address the issues of the public.
A 50 year old female villager while interacting with the Sangai Express reporter said that the road that lead to Kachai village has never been properly constructed till date.
She continued that the condition of the road get worsened during rainy season due to improper drainage system and added that pregnant women and sick person faced untold misery and hardship as they cannot be transported on time to the hospital.
Many students also failed to receive regular education as most the schools are located at Ukhrul town, she added.
She also drew the attention of the authority concerned to address their plight at the earliest so that the light of development can be dawned on Kachai village.
