Music Fest at Sajik Tampak

A Music and Dance Fest was organised by the Sajik Tampak Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) at Kana Valley under Chakpikarong Sub Division on 25th August.
The event was organised at Sajik Tampak ground and gave opportunity to the young boys and girls to showcase their talents.
The event assisted in highlighting the rich tribal culture of the region.
Enthusiastic participants belted out numbers of various genres ranging from famous English Rocks, traditional Kuki to patriotic songs and kept the crowd of over 400 people entertained through the evening.
The participant for their endeavours were ably supported by the Jazz Band of Sajik Tampak Battalion.
The conduct of the event included solo song, group song and group dance.
Out of the total of 36 young talented boys and girls who performed, Mr Mangcha of Sajik Tampak village and Ms Kimneo of Haika village were adjudged the best talent in solo song for boys and girls respectively.
Ms Vahneo and party of Twilelon village were adjudged the best in group song performance, while Ms Diana & party of Sajik Tampak village were adjudged the best in group dance.
The event was enthusiastically participated and appreciated by the locals and showcased the ever increasing bond of the locals with the Security Forces.
The huge crowd was testimony to the fact that the local population is fed up of insurgency and wants peace to prosper.
Due to active area domination by the Assam Rifles, even the youth of the region has grown in confidence and assured active assistance to fight the menace of insurgency by providing information on the insurgent movement.
With the local population turning the heat on the insurgents, it is evident that we are entering the last phase of insurgency in Sajik Valley.
