Advocacy meet ends

Imphal, June 19 2013:
A three-day grass root level advocacy programme for people living with HIV/AIDS organised by World Vision India concluded today at CH Avenue Church in Sadar Hills.
Around 52 people living with HIV/AIDS participated in the programme.
The valedictory programme was attended by District AIDS Prevention Control Officer, Dr Loli Mao; ART In-charge of Saikul PHC, Dr Joychandra; ICTC Counsellor, Lenin; WVI Advocacy Officer, Daisy David and Sunder Singh of MNP+ .
Various inconveniences faced by PLHIV like non refund of TA to PLHIVs while going to take ART from Govt hospitals; lack of nutrition support to children infected with HIV under Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission programme; non extension of benefits under Widow Pension Scheme, AAY, BPL etc were highlighted during the programme.
