Imphal, June 19 2013:
All Manipur MBBS/BDS 2013 Entrance Examination Parents'/Guardians' Association has alleged that the State government is a liar and it has been inconsistent in giving reasons for the cancellation of proposed State Pre-Medical Test (PMT).
A release of the Association said that the State government had cancelled the PMT citing some ruling of the Supreme Court earlier, but the Advocate General deposed before the High Court that the proposed PMT was cancelled on the basis of Medical Council of India's norm for "one nation, one examination" endorsing the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).
In another contradiction, the State government filed a caveat to the High Court stating the test was cancelled according to its own policy, it noted.
The Association said that the government had filed the caveat in anticipation of the case filed by eight candidates.
The roll numbers of the petitioners (candidates) have also been kept concealed by the government besides adding large number of bogus candidates in order to support their caveat, the parents claimed.
They further demanded the State government to conduct the PMT as soon as possible without lying to the people furthermore.
