Imphal, October 23 2009:
The 48-hour bandh called by JAC, formed in connection with the abduction of an AEO of TD department by unidentified miscreants on October 14 last, along the Imphal-Ukhrul section of NH-150 comes to effect today.
Other than causing disturbance to citizens depending on the road, there has been no report of violent incident.
The bandh has been called demanding the safe release of N Chaoba of Yourbung, an employee in the TD department.
Chaoba (60) was abducted by some miscreants on October 14 from his residence at Yorbung under Lamlai police station in Imphal East district.
