Imphal, October 23 2009:
Taking forward the agitation against the failure of the Government to take any action against the police commandos, who threatened and abused two reporters in the night of October 10, the All Manipur Working Journalists' Union has decided to boycott the forthcoming Information Day on November 1.Moreover the Union has also decreed that no Editor or reporter should receive the prize to be distributed on the said day.
Instead of attending the day's function, the Unnion will stage a protest rally against the high handedness and indifference of the Government on November 1 which will be followed by a meeting.
These decisions were taken during a meeting held at the Manipur Press Club today evening.
