In continuation of the Swachhta Pakhwada (Cleanliness fortnight) campaign, which began on October 1 at Senapati district, a one day cleanliness workshop was organised by the District Rural Development Agency, Senapati under the aegis of Watershed Development Component (IWMP), WCDC Level, at DRDA conference Hall today .
Experts from different departments delivered lectures on managing and controlling pollution for a clean living environment .
Speaking on the occasion ADM, Senapati Ng Robin stressed on discipline, effort and hard work to maintaining cleanliness .
He expressed the desire to give emphasis on the effectiveness of cleanliness drives and urged to be a responsible human being in keeping the surroundings clean .
Speaking on ‘E-Waste Management’, Scientist NIELIT, ImphaI Imopishak Thingom talked spoke on the relevance of e-waste management and its effects .
He urged all to minimize the disposal of electronics and increases in recycling it .
As a part of the workshop, secretary of New Eden Village, which is one of the cleanest village on Senapati district, Namshinlung Kamei, shared the experience of developing a clean and eco- friendly village .
IFS Divisional Forest Officer, Senapati forest Div Rajesh AM talked on the conservation of natural resources including rivers and streams .
The workshop was attended by all the stakeholders of the districts.
