Imphal, August 08 2018:
In view of the coming 53rd Hunger Marches Day, All Manipur Students Union (AMSU) organised a class mobilisation campaign at Ibotonsana Girls Higher Secondary School today.
Speaking at the event, AMSU president Manjit Sarangthem said that on August 27, 1965, three students and AIR driver Nilamani lost their lives during the movement against the injustices meted out by the Government and the class mobilisation programme has been organised in connection with the coming observation.
Oft the other hand, Manjit conveyed that the State has been plagued with various issues and added that AMSU fully supports the demand raised by the university community regarding the Manipur University issue.
The failure of the leaders to take up any concrete actions even after the issue has crossed 70 days show the Government's complete lack of interest in the welfare of the people, he alleged.
Ibotonsana Girls Hr Secondary School Principal Prempiyari and AMSU's Laishram Athouba were also present at the event.
