75th Quit India Movement

As part of the global efforts to promote patriotism, Phundrei Battalion of 9 sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a celebration to commemorate 75th Anniversary of Quit India Movement today.
Various events including essay competition and quiz competition were organized.
Best three students in all competitions were awarded prizes.
The aim behind the conduction of the competition was to bring out the feeling of patriotism amongst the students.
The students' deep understanding of the importance of National Integration was evident from their essays and patriotic songs, said a statement of IGAR (South).
More than 220 students and 32 teaching staff of three schools - Athokpam Junior High School, Choayaima Higher Secondary School, Thoubal and Assam Rifles Junior High School participated in the event.
After the culmination' of the event, a movie on Quit India Movement was also shown to the students to give an insight of the Movement as it had happened.
