The Voluntary Help Unit Committee, RIMS which has been providing aid in the form of free medicines to those injured in the ongoing general strike has appealed to all the people not to harass or block movement of its ambulance and volunteers.
Speaking to some media persons inside RIMS complex here today, advisor of the committee Moirangthem Subhaschandra said that the committee has been providing medical aid to all those people injured in the ongoing general strike and brought to the hospital.
The voluntary help unit was opened in the hospital since June, 2001.Since then, the unit has been providing medical aid to all those injured and brought to the hospital during all the episodes of mass protest movements.
So far, 21 people injured in the ongoing movement have been treated at RIMS and one has succumbed to injuries.
Till date, the unit has provided medicines worth Rs 33,000 to these people, Subhaschandra said.
