Imphal, June 22 2015 :
The All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) has strongly condemned the inhuman killing of a Madhya Pradesh journalist, Sandeep Kothari by miscreants.
Kothari (40) was a local correspondent for a Jabalpur-based Hindi daily and he was kidnapped by the miscreants on Friday.
The charred body was found in Maharashtra's Wardha district Saturday night.
An AMWJU standing committee meeting convened on Monday with its President Wangkhemcha Shamjai in the chair condemned the killing in the strongest term, according to a statement issued by AMWJU's publicity secretary, A Jiten.
While sharing the grief and pain of the bereaved family, the members present observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
AMWJU also urged the authorities concerned to ensure fitting punishment to the perpetrators involved in the killing.
