Imphal, June 22 2015 :
The UNC has appealed to the Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) to review their decision to impose a 72 hour bandh in Zeliangrong areas with effect from June 24 midnight .
The United Naga Council understands the regional aspiration pursued within the Naga fold.
And the aspirations are attributed to the nearly 7 decades old Naga struggle without solution.
So, Government of India is responsible for the prevailing problem arising out of the aspiration, it said in a press release.
As the Nagas are engaging for the final political settlement that can also address various regional problems, it is appealed to all sections of the Nagas pursuing regional aspiration not to hamper the ongoing Indo-Naga political dialogue which is in advance stage in the larger interest of the Nagas, said UNC.
This appeal is made to all organizations concerned with the belief that the whole is better and stronger than a part.
"It is our conviction that the part shall remain protected within the whole if the position of the whole is secure in generations to come.
So, UNC further appeals to all concerned to nurture more collective spirit in the larger interest of all Nagas based on the uniqueness of Naga history and its situation," it added.
