Fingerlings liberated

Imphal, July 20 2012:
The State Fishery department has liberated around 1,00,000 fish fingerlings of different varieties into Loktak Lake at Haoreng Chingyang point yesterday, according to a statement of the Bishnupur District Fishery Officer.
The programme was conducted under the Convergence of Scheme of STAP for Conservation and Management of Loktak Lake and Associated Wet Lands Integrating Manipur River Basin.
Officials of the Fishery department, LDA and Rajbabu Sharma, member of Thanga GP and O Tomba, secretary of NAYA Club, Samukon were present on the occasion, it stated.
