100 solar lamps for each AC

In line with the Chief Minister's initiative to promote renewable and green energy in the energy-starved State, the Government is working to install 100 solar street (LED) lamps in each Assembly segment.
A reliable source informed that the project for public lighting would be implemented by the Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency (MANIREDA) under the Ministry of New Renewable Energy.
MANIREDA has already sent a proposal to the Ministry of New Renewable Energy to procure 6000 solar street LED lamps.
The new project came Chief Minister O Ibobi's announcement in the State Assembly to replace the existing street lamps with more power efficient LED bulbs.
Taking serious note of the chronic power crisis, the State Government has appointed former Chief Secretary Jarnail Singh as power advisor to the Chief Minister.
On the other hand, MANIREDA has successfully solar lighting system in many remote villages of the State as well as a few Government offices and hospitals.
